Alumnus Spotlight

What is your current job?

Managing Partner of We Are The People Law Group - Mississippi. I practice personal injury, wrongful death, workers' compensation, and criminal defense law.

Were there any highlights of your undergraduate experience?

Studying Abroad in Mexico with Lott. Joining the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and commissioning as a Second Lieutenant in the Mississippi Army National Guard.

When and why did you decide to study Public Policy Leadership?

I decided to do PPL after originally coming to Ole Miss as a history major. I made the decision because the curriculum matched my career goals.

How do you feel that the Lott Institute prepared you for your career path?

It improved both my writing and critical thinking/analysis skills immensely. It also helped me to better understand those who disagree with my beliefs. Additionally, it taught me the value of diversity and why it's important to seek to create a world where there's truly liberty and justice for all.

Please talk about your career path since graduation from the University.

After graduating undergrad I went on to graduate law school Cum Laude. After passing the Mississippi Bar, I began practicing law across the State of Mississippi. I am now also a minister and plan to become a Chaplain in the Mississippi Army National Guard while also expanding my legal practice and potentially seeking either a political office or a judgeship in the distant future.
