Meet Virginia Wilson
Virginia Wilson grew up in North Mississippi living in many communities where her father served as a United Methodist minister. She graduated from Senatobia (Mississippi) High School in 1975 and still considers Senatobia her hometown. Virginia moved on to attend Ole Miss from 1975 through 1979, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1979 with a B.A. in Political Science and Economics. At Ole Miss she was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Mortar Board, and served as Corresponding Secretary and as Vice-President of Zeta Tau Alpha. She went on to graduate school, and later, law school at the University of Memphis, receiving her Masters of Business Administration in Finance in 1981 and her J.D in 1989.
Ms. Wilson is licensed to practice in Tennessee and Mississippi and is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Memphis Bar Association, and the Mississippi Bar Association. She has spent her 35+ year legal career both in private practice and in-house primarily focusing on banking and financial services and representation of community banks in federal and state regulatory matters, bank formations, acquisitions, sales, expansion of activities, and consumer financial services. In addition to banking and financial services, she has counseled pharmaceutical companies and clinical research institutions on clinical trial contracting matters in the U.S. and abroad.
Ms. Wilson and her husband, Eddie have lived in Memphis for 47 years, are enthusiastic supporters of Ole Miss Athletics, and pursue many hobbies and interests, including their pack of Labrador Retrievers. Virginia currently serves as treasurer and board member for the Memphis Kennel Club and has enjoyed participating with the Labradors for several years in conformation dog shows, obedience, rally, and scent work trials.
