Soaking Up My Last Firsts
Wow, we are already seven weeks into school, and we have so much to catch up on! I know that there is a lot going on, but I wanted to share a couple of my experiences that have happened in the last seven weeks, especially regarding graduation, a crazy football game against you-know-who, and countless moments in between.
A couple of weeks ago, I received an email from the University telling me to sign up for Senior portraits, and it felt so surreal that graduation is slowly approaching and that time is flying by. I immediately texted my parents and said, “Wow, it’s actually happening.” The feeling of graduation, as many of you might feel, is very bittersweet.
For me, I am so sad to leave Ole Miss and the city of Oxford, but also excited to explore the next chapter of my life. I have been studying and working towards a degree for 4 years, and I am excited to see what I do with it. There are so many last firsts that are happening just in these seven weeks. I had my last advising meeting for the Spring semester, and I got a celebratory bear charm from my advisor, which felt sappy.
Another huge thing for me is soaking up Saturdays in the Grove and Vaught. Gamedays as a student with my best friends is something that I am so grateful for and going to miss. As I write this, I am studying for midterms...yeah, that M word. I truly can’t believe it’s October and we are already doing midterm tests. Time is starting to creep up on us. If you are struggling with midterms or tests, don’t feel like you're going through it alone. Everyone is studying nonstop to get the grade that they want, so just take a deep breath. You all are going to do amazing. I am cheering for you every step of the way.
Well, I hope you enjoyed me playing catch-up with y’all.
Talk soon and Hotty Toddy!

All Gas, No Breaks
What’s up Rebs! I am so excited to talk to everyone today. Does it feel like the semester is flying by or is it just me? I truly can’t believe it’s the end of October and November is literally right around the corner. So much has been happening in my life, and I am sure a lot is happening in yours.
Last week, it was my first weekend at home since the beginning of August. It was so nice to be at home with my family and hometown friends. Trust me, I love Oxford and Ole Miss but I was feeling a bit homesick. Maybe some of you feel this way, which is completely normal. I am soaking up every moment here and don’t want it to end, but a nice weekend at home is always refreshing.
This week, Ole Miss hosts Auburn on Halloween, which is so exciting. I hope you guys have picked out your Halloween costumes and are ready for the night. I will be on the sidelines working as an Ole Miss Fan and Marketing Experience Intern, dealing with the gameday fun. All this fun does come with a lot of work, unfortunately.
Next week, I have two major tests that fall on the exact same week, which is just unlucky. The two tests are CSCI203 and GB370, which are definitely not easy classes. So after all the game day fun, it will be time to hit the books this Sunday and all throughout next week.
Looking to the future, I am counting down the days until Thanksgiving and the Egg Bowl. My family, my long distance boyfriend, and best friend are spending Thanksgiving here in Oxford. We are going to have a huge dinner and walk around campus to get some Grove pictures with the trash cans. This is going to be a perfect week.
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it's a time to reflect, and this year has been incredible. As a senior, this will be my last ever home game as a student, so it will definitely be bittersweet. Cheering on the Rebs one last time before I reach alumni status is truly hard to believe.
Wow, this has been an amazing update for you all, and I am so glad we got to catch up.
