Being a WellReb allows me to serve my community in a way that isn’t as common, such as volunteering for a registered student organization. We are sometimes so consumed by other obligations that we overlook wellness, while it’s vital for setting our intentions and goals for the day! I am so grateful I have the ability to help others through a topic that can be considered controversial or taboo in terms of societal standards.

Q&A with Syna Gandhi

What wellness topics are you most passionate about?

I am most passionate about cultural wellness because it is not talked about enough! I am proud to say that I come from an immigrant household and love talking to anyone who is interested in listening about my culture. It’s one of those things that make us unique, but also bring people together.

What is something you wish students knew about wellness resources on campus?

I wish more students knew about the WellChats that are offered by the William Magee Center! They are one-on-one conversations with a Certified Peer Educator where you can talk about anything and everything. Whether you are overwhelmed and have a lot going on or college is a bigger adjustment than you might’ve realized, it’s completely okay to schedule a WellChat with us! We are a great first stop if you ever need support or assistance with any dimension of wellness.
