What is your major and why did you choose it?
I chose Allied Health Studies major because it allows me the flexibility and freedom to take classes that I am interested in while ensuring I am taking all the classes required for nursing school.

Why did you decide to pursue this health profession?
I have multiple people in my family that are in health care, so I have always been exposed to it at a young age. I felt drawn to nursing because I want to help care for people, but also want to make more connections with them. As a nurse, I will be able to care for patients and care for them in a more intimate way than a doctor because I will see them multiple times a day. I want to make a memorable impact in people's lives and always be a person of support.

How has HPAO helped you?
The HPAO offices has helped me in numerous ways. I can always rely on Dr. Bilbo to help me decide which classes to choose and make my resume as best as possible. They are a community of people who desires to help us through every endeavorer and ensure our applications are the best they can be. It is like a home away from home filled with people who want to support and help you.

What is your most memorable experience working with HPAO?
My most memorable experience with HPAO is probably working Mississippi day because I got to meet numerous people who are wanting to or thinking about pursing a degree in the health care field. I got to talk through the process of different routes they could take and help them make their decision easier. It was a great experience meeting and talking with so many people.

What are your career goals?
After I graduate, I plan to go to the one year accelerated nursing program here in Oxford. After graduating nursing school, I plan to work in the ICU or CCU for one to two years then apply to CRNA school.

What is your favorite meal in Oxford?
My favorite meal in Oxford is probably the shrimp pasta at Lenora's. It is a great restaurant that I love going to when my parents are visiting.

What are you the happiest doing when you are not studying?
When I am not studying, I love going for walks with my friends on the whirlpool trials.

Where is your favorite study spot?
My favorite study spot is on the Honors College patio or in the grove. I love studying outsides when its pretty because it makes the work feel less stressful.
