Why did you choose PPL as your major and what was the appeal of the Lott program?

I chose Public Policy Leadership as my major because of the diverse range of career paths it could lead to, especially in regards to law related fields. There are also limited public policy degrees programs at the undergraduate level making the Lott Institute a great asset for furthering education. The Lott Institute specifically provided extensive networking opportunities within a family-feel environment that was extremely heartwarming to my out of state family.

What are your career aspirations?

After graduation I hope to attend law school, preferably in Texas or Louisiana to be close to home. After graduation I would like to obtain a master's in public administration or hospital administration. From there, I would like to pursue a career in hospital administration or in some area of healthcare policy.

Is there a professor that has been particularly helpful to you?

Dr. Melissa Bass has been a particularly helpful professor to me through the Lott Institute. I greatly enjoyed her intro to public policy class in which I was able to gain an understanding into a wide range of policy issues and opinions on each topic. Furthermore, she has been a great resource in class advisement and scheduling.

What is a particularly meaningful way you have engaged in a community either on or off campus?

I served as a member of the Ole Miss Big Event Logistics Sub-Committee, made bracelets for gifts baskets to be given to Miracle Families at the 2023-2024 Rebel-Thon fundraiser for Children's of Mississippi, served the Ole Miss Student body during LandShark week and Homecoming Week on the SAA Homecoming Committee, and assisted with Ole Miss Cru Christmas contacting spreadsheet.
