Meet Callie
What inspired you to pursue a degree at the School of Education?
I was inspired to pursue a degree in the School of Education based on my prior experiences with my teachers growing up. I came from a very unstable family, and the teachers and environment at East Union Attendance Center truly became a safe place for me. I want to be able to help my students grow, feel loved, and safe by providing them with a stable community and loving environment in my classroom just like my teachers did throughout my early education.
What do you plan to do after graduation?
After graduation, I plan on receiving my Master’s degree in Special Populations (Gifted) and hopefully becoming a Graduate Assistant for the School of Education. Once I obtain that degree, I would like to teach at a Local Title I school, so that I could love students who truly need the most support.
