Meet Caroline

Why did you choose to attend the University of Mississippi?

I complete my undergraduate degree at the University of Mississippi and I loved every minute of it. I really enjoyed my time in the school of education and I built relationships that I know will last a lifetime. It is a very supportive environment and I am so excited to be back!

Tell us about a favorite memory, professor, and/or academic course during your time at the School of Education:

My favorite memory from the School of Education is when I was in a class with Dr. Sara Platt and she brought a pinata into our class. It was a positivity pinata where we all put in positive things that had happened during the week and little trinkets and treats. After a few weeks we went outside and smashed it open. We got to see all of the positive things people had written about and it was really meaningful. It helped everyone in the class look for the good in our day.

What inspired you to pursue a degree at the School of Education?

I have worked with individuals with disabilities for a lot of my life. Growing up I babysat a couple kids in my neighborhood that had disabilities and we had a lot of fun. I volunteered for an organization that has sports teams for individuals with disabilities. I loved every minute of it and I really felt that this was my calling.
