Why did you choose to attend UM?
I chose Ole Miss for a few reasons. My dad went here for both undergrad and law school, so I grew up hearing about how much he loved it. I always knew I wanted to go to an SEC school in the South because I wanted that big school spirit, game days, and overall atmosphere. Greek life was also something that mattered to me, and Ole Miss has such a strong, close-knit community. But honestly, the moment I got to Oxford and walked around campus, I just felt like I belonged. It felt like home right away, and I knew this was where I was meant to be!
What can you tell a high school student about your FASTrack experience?
FASTrack was a great way to ease into college. I met some of my closest friends through the program, and we still hang out all the time. It helped make a big school feel smaller, and I liked having smaller classes and more support early on. It definitely made the transition from high school to college a lot easier for me!
What is one thing you wish you knew as an incoming freshman that you'd tell your past self?
I wish I had known to ease into the college experience more. Everyone’s just as overwhelmed as you are, even if they don’t show it. You’re not going to adapt to all the changes overnight, and that’s okay. Just take things one day at a time and give yourself some grace!
