Why should someone visit Ole Miss?

People should visit Ole Miss to experience not only an incredibly beautiful campus, but also to learn more about what makes this university so special.

What brought you to Ole Miss?

I was very unsure about where to go to college, but after I toured campus I knew that Ole Miss was the place for me. When I toured, I realized how at Ole Miss you get the opportunity to experience the benefits of attending a big SEC school - the awesome athletics, southern culture, and Greek life - while still feeling like you attend a small school. At Ole Miss, I have never felt like a number. Instead, I have always felt valued and have had ample opportunities to get involved on campus and make an impact on the Oxford-Lafayette community. The academics were also a huge selling point for me. Ole Miss has a phenomenal Honors College program that has allowed me to grow alongside other motivated students and experience smaller class sizes. Ole Miss has great biology and chemistry departments alongside the HPAO office which is an incredible resource for pre-health students. Lastly, I loved how Ole Miss has fantastic student ministries on campus that are incredibly intentional in helping students along their faith journey. Throughout my time here, all of my expectations have been exceeded. Choosing to come to Ole Miss was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

What is your favorite thing to do over the weekends in Oxford?

In addition to watching the Rebels play, I love to get outdoors on the weekends with friends and experience the Oxford area’s golf courses, parks, and lakes.

Have you volunteered in the community around Oxford?

I have volunteered at various animal shelters in the LOU community, participated in trash pick up at Sardis lake, and plan to get involved with Leapfrog and the Oxford Food Pantry. I also helped organize a donation drive and service project to help benefit Rolling Fork, MS after the recent tornados.

What is your favorite Ole Miss sporting event to attend?

An SEC baseball series at Swayze

When and why did you choose your major(s)/minors?

I originally came to Ole Miss majoring in business and minoring in biology and chemistry on the pre-dental track. After summer of my freshman year, I chose to switch to a biology major and business minor to cut down on my hours and allow more time for other things such as involvement, community service, and shadowing.

What has been your favorite class?

All my classes have been awesome, but my favorite has been my Honors 101 class.
