What would you tell a high school student about your major? What is most important for them to know if they are interested in pursuing that field of study?
Studying economics is extremely interesting if you’re interested in both history and politics, as it has importance in both those areas. You should also know that at some points, pursuing this major can be more challenging than expected, but you should keep studying and learning because the journey is fruitful.

Why is your department a special place?
It’s special because many professors and students within are people of learning and are very knowledgeable about a range of subjects, beyond just economics.

What professor or class has had the most impact on you?
Macroeconomics has had the most effect on me personally; every class has an interesting lesson to discuss, and studying for the coursework was very enjoyable.

What do you hope to do after graduation? What are your career goals/plans?
After graduation, I hope to attend law school to study constitutional law. In the long run, I aspire to be involved in politics.

I would tell myself to simply do what I want to do, and to not worry about what others think or want of me.
