    I am an educator of 14 years. I have taught Special Education for the last 10 years of my career. For the past 4 years I have been employed at Desoto County Schools Alternative Center Magnolia where I service students with Emotional Disabilities.

What does this scholarship award mean to you?

This scholarship is very beneficial to me as it will cover my educational expenses for the Fall Semester.

Why did you choose to attend the University of Mississippi?

The University of Mississippi has the best education program. There are non-stop collaborative efforts and the professors really do help assist in all aspects of the program.

Tell us about a favorite memory, professor, and/or academic course during your time at the School of Education:

Dr. Denise Soares taught me the importance of effective communication. It is easy to communicate with someone but honesty and consistency are the keys to having great communication.

Tell us about your community involvements and/or hobbies:

I enjoy journaling, reading, and networking with fellow Educational Leaders. I Am A Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

What do you plan to do after graduation?

I plan to take the BCBA exam and start working in a clinical setting.
