Why did you choose PPL as your major and what was the appeal of the Lott program?

I chose PPL because of the small class sizes and exciting opportunities the Lott Institute could bring me. I started at Ole Miss as a political science major. After making several friends in Lott, I decided I'd switch into PPL.

What are your career aspirations?

After graduation, I intend to go back to my home state of Alabama. There, I want to work in the state government and politics. I hope to either staff for a government official or work on campaigns.

Is there a professor that has been particularly helpful to you?

Dr. Ivy Liu has been a great professor. She teaches a few difficult classes, but she works very hard to connect to students and help them learn. She has always accommodated for students who may need extra help due issues external to the classroom.

What is a particularly meaningful way you have engaged in a community either on or off campus?

As a student at Ole Miss, I have worked with the local Republican club to campaign in local and statewide elections, as well as bring students to local events centered on politics. Additionally, I have gotten to help with advocacy in specific policy groups.
