Why did you choose PPL as your major and what was the appeal of the Lott program?
When I first toured Ole Miss my junior year of high school, I knew I was interested in studying politics, history, and law. When I found out about the Lott Institute, I knew it was the right program for me because of how it incorporated all of my interests in such a unique way! As I continued to learn about the Lott program, the appeal only increased. The institute is able to cater to each of its students due to its small size and provide us with a variety of opportunities.
What are your career aspirations?
I hope to pursue a career in political campaign management. With my degree in Public Policy Leadership and Journalism, I hope to be able to effectively market candidates and share real stories! I look forward to seeing how the Lott Institute continues to shape and support my goals.
Is there a professor that has been particularly helpful to you?
Dr. Bass was my first Public Policy Leadership professor, and has continued to be such a help to me! As my advisor, she helped me every step of the way to ensure I was on the right track my first year and that I was taking classes I was interested in. As my professor, she taught me so much about policy and the way it influences our nation.
What is a particularly meaningful way you have engaged in a community either on or off campus?
One particularly meaningful way I have engaged with the community is through the Love Packs organization. Packing bags with this group is so rewarding! They collect food and supplies for local Lafayette-Oxford schools, allowing me to pour back into the future of the community I cherish so much!
