
Area of Study
Within the general area of Marketing, my research interests mainly fall within the area of investigating how “new-age” persuasive tactics affect consumers' perceptions, intentions, and behaviors within the current marketing climate.
What made you choose the University of Mississippi's doctoral program?
I visited the campus and fell in love with Oxford as well as the faculty and other doctoral students that I met!
How or why did you choose your area of focus?
I have always been interested in what impacts consumer decision-making and really narrowed my focus to how new technology impacts consumer decision-making with my dissertation.
Is there a professor who has been a mentor to you?
I would say both Dr. Newman as well as Dr. Babin have both been instrumental in helping me through the program and starting my career in academia.
What has been one of your most memorable moments at UM?
One of my most memorable moments was the first time being recognized by a student outside of a classroom.
Do you have any advice for people considering the Ph.D. program?
Be open to new places when looking into PhD programs and choose a program where you feel the most at home and comfortable.
What are your plans after completing the program?
I plan to take a tenure-track job at a university, teaching consumer behavior or something related to Marketing.
What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to?
I really enjoy reading memoirs (my favorite is the Glass Castle) and I love watching reality TV.
What are your favorite hobbies?
I love to run and do yoga in my free time.
What are some dream travel destinations?
My dream places would be to visit the Swiss Alps, Croatia, and eventually Japan.
What’s your favorite thing to do in Oxford, MS?
Go to the football and baseball games when they are at home.
