Meet Emma Williams

What is your major and why did you choose it?

I chose to major in Biology because it checked off a lot of the prerequisites for PA school while still allowing me to still take some science classes that I was interested in.

Why did you decide to pursue this health profession?

I want to be a PA because of the role they play in healthcare. I believe PAs play a critical role by providing a mixture of direct patient care and clinical assessment. I also love that as a PA I will never have to be the sole healthcare provider for a patient. I will always be able to be part of a team of physicians that work together to provide the best care possible.

How has HPAO helped you?

HPAO has played an enormous part in preparing me for PA School from providing me with advisors that helped me select my classes every semester to arranging mock interviews to prepare me for the application process. HPAO has been a huge resource.

What is your most memorable experience working with HPAO?

My most memorable experience with HPAO is the HPAO fair. I attend the fair every year and always feel like I learn something new about the application process or different PA schools.

What are your career goals?

In the future, I hope to become a critical care Physician Assistant.

What is your favorite meal in Oxford?

I LOVE the crab legs from The Landshark!

What are you the happiest doing when you are not studying?

When I am not studying, I am happiest cuddling with my Australian Shepherd, Milly, and binging Supernatural.

Where is your favorite study spot?

Nothing beats a sunny picnic table in the Grove!
