Why did you choose to attend the University of Mississippi?
Despite of the discussion of the University, the University of Mississippi is a great place to grow and find out who you are and where you belong. Ever since I was a little girl, I always knew I wanted to be an Ole Miss Rebel. As soon as I stepped foot onto this campus, I knew this was where I wanted to be. Despite people close to me telling me about the school's past, I still wanted to come here and prove that the school is not what it seemed.

What would you tell a high school student about your major? What is most important for them to know if they are interested in pursuing that field of study?
As a history major, it's probably boring for some of you guys, but for me, it was the best decision I've made for myself. History for me is something that will be helpful for you, especially if you are interested in law school or want to become a lawyer.

Why is your department a special place?
My department is special to me because of how amazing the professors are. Despite History being somewhat the least popular among the different majors, switching to History and being welcomed into their department is one of the biggest reasons why I stayed a History major.

What professor or class has had the most impact on you?
The one professor who had a huge impact on me was my HST 121 professor, Dr. Negy. Even though he rarely knew me, I found his classes informative as rarely sugarcoated the history of what Europeans did to other countries, yet finding ways to brush it under the rug.

What do you hope to do after graduation? What are your career goals/plans?
What I hope to do after graduation is that I hope to attend Howard School of Law so I can further my education to become a civil rights attorney, which is why I chose my major. From there, I hope to work for a nice law firm and hopefully, in the future, open my own firm in Washington, D.C.

What is one thing you wish you knew as an incoming freshman that you’d tell your past self (about the general college experience)?
One thing I wish I knew as an incoming freshman is that I should've taken advantage of the things the University had to offer. When I first started my freshman year, I viewed it as a way where I was too scared to get help. Making matters worse, I was extremely busy with the band because I had made it the most important part of my life. Now, I'm solely focusing on joining organizations that will help me with my career. Other than that, my college experiences have been the greatest years of my life, and I pray that my future goes well.
