More about Hailey

Hailey grew up on the MS Gulf Coast and states that her love for nature stems from her childhood on the beach. Coming into college, Hailey was a declared Biological Sciences major, but upon taking an introductory Anthropology class, she decided that her education would be incomplete without also learning about the social sciences. She now incorporates both her biology and anthropology work into her internship with the Office of Sustainability by creating campus ecology and conservation programming as well as investigating southern sustainability culture at the University of Mississippi.

What have you enjoyed most about working with the Office of Sustainability?

I have enjoyed teaching my peers whom might not have known about sustainability or what it means in a practical sense ways that they can incorporate sustainability into their everyday life. I also like the fact that I can engage with all the different members of our campus community (including students, professors, and even Oxford Community Market vendors) in planning and implementing new programs.
