Meet Jaishun
What inspired you to pursue a degree at the School of Education?
From a young age, I was drawn to the idea of teaching and sharing knowledge. My passion truly blossomed when I began tutoring middle school students during high school. Seeing their progress and the spark of understanding in their eyes was incredibly rewarding and solidified my desire to pursue a career in education. I realized that teaching was not just about imparting knowledge but also about empowering students to reach their full potential. This profound experience inspired me to study at the School of Education, where I can develop the skills needed to make a meaningful impact.
Tell us about your community involvements and/or hobbies:
In my free time, I actively engage in tutoring students in math, a pursuit that has become both a hobby and a way to give back to my community. I find great fulfillment in helping students overcome challenges and build their confidence in the subject. Beyond just improving their math skills, I strive to foster a positive attitude toward learning and problem-solving. This experience has deepened my appreciation for education and reinforced my commitment to supporting others in their academic journeys. It's a rewarding way for me to make a difference while doing something I genuinely enjoy.
What do you plan to do after graduation?
After graduating from Ole Miss, I plan to return to my hometown or nearby areas to begin my teaching career. My goal is to inspire and educate students, helping them understand the transformative power of a good education. I’m passionate about making a positive impact in my community, and I believe that teaching is one of the most effective ways to do so. Additionally, I intend to continue my own educational journey by pursuing a Master's Degree, which will enable me to deepen my expertise and expand my ability to contribute meaningfully to my students' lives.
