What does this scholarship award mean to you?

These scholarships affirm my work. At times, I needed clarification about how I was doing. However, being recognized by the selection communities and the donors is an honor. With these donations, I can continue my education and work toward my dream goal.

Tell us about a favorite memory, professor, and/or academic course during your time at the School of Education:

My favorite memory during my academic journey is the second week of my spring observation placement. I had finally made ground with the students in the classroom and was able to help them with the essays they were working on. Hearing the "thank you" and "ohs" from them served as a justification that I made the right choice when choosing education.

What inspired you to pursue a degree at the School of Education?

I owe my inspiration to many, but the largest is my AP World History and AP U.S. History teacher, Mr. Denning. Throughout my two years of classes with him, he always encouraged me to experience life. I am particularly impressed by how he draws out students' talents while also following a textbook. Without Mr. Denning, I would have never realized my ability to teach others at school.
