  • Quick Intro

I grew up in Florida and moved to Oklahoma State University for my undergraduate work. While working in the career services office I fell in love with higher education and decided to pursue a career in this field. I love helping students achieve their higher education goals by ensuring equitable access in my highest capacity. Aside from work and school, I love to travel. My dog and I look for travel spots with the best hiking options!

Meet Kaitlyn

What does this scholarship award mean to you?

This scholarship award means everything to me. It represents an opportunity to pursue my education without the constant worry of financial strain. Choosing to work in higher education means a lot but it doesn't always make a lot. So this validation of my hard work and dedication gives me the encouragement to continue striving toward my goals. With this support, I can focus more on my studies and less on how to pay for them. It’s not just financial assistance; it’s a vote of confidence in my potential and future.

Tell us about your community involvements and/or hobbies:

I serve as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate). As a CASA, I dedicate my time to advocating for the best interests of children in foster care, ensuring their needs and wishes are represented in court. My involvement includes visiting children regularly, collaborating with social workers, and preparing detailed reports for the judge. I also work closely with families and service providers to help create a safe and supportive environment for the children, aiming to make a lasting positive impact on their lives.
