  • About

I am a junior on the pre-pharmacy track and have been provisionally accepted into the School of Pharmacy here at Ole Miss. I am involved in many clubs on campus and love spending time with my classmates. Fun Fact: I am from the hometown of Chucky Mullins
Leah standing in a grove tent.

Why did you choose to attend Ole Miss?

I chose Ole Miss because of the campus, environment, and pharmacy school. I have always dreamed of going to Ole Miss and admired the pharmacy school and the success of the students.

When and how did you choose your major?

I chose my major freshman year of high school. I knew I wanted to do something in healthcare, but I knew nursing, doctors, etc., wasn't for me. I took pharmacy classes in high school, obtained my Pharmacy Technician license, and immediately fell in love. I have since been working as a pharmacy tech back home and taking summer classes/dual enrollment to get where I need to be.

What would you tell a high school student about your major? What is most important for them to know if they’re interested in pursuing that field of study?

Everyone makes it seem impossible, but you will be in the best hands at UM SOP.

Why is your school a special place?

Ole Miss is a special place because of the Phamily it creates. I am actually a transfer student. I wasn't sure how I would fit in or connect with those who were EE or here since freshman year, but I immediately connected. They host many events that you can attend to connect you to your classmates, which makes Ole Miss so special to me.

What are your 3 favorite things about your major/department at UM?

  1. The faculty/staff are top tier. They connect with you so well and are there for you for anything, literally.
  2. The building is amazing, and I might be biased, but I think it is the most beautiful pharmacy school in the nation!
  3. There are many clubs/activities that you can get involved in.

Can you tell me about a professor or a class you’ve taken that has had the most impact on you?

Dr. Stewart has had the most impact on me so far, and I am in his class this semester, but he is very fun and energetic. He never has a boring class, and he wants the best for you. He doesn't make things impossible because you want to understand the content.

What has been one of your most memorable or enjoyable moments at Ole Miss?

My most enjoyable moment at Ole Miss was the Morgan Wallen concert. We also have other events where singers have come (a.k.a Riley Green). I love getting to enjoy myself along with my friends and classmates.

What do you hope to do after you graduate? What are your career goals/plans after graduation?

After graduation, I hope to start working immediately. I have plans to become a home infusion pharmacist and open my own business in my hometown.

Apart from school, how do you spend your time in Oxford? What are your hobbies, favorite places to go?

I normally go for a walk at Lamar Park, shop on the square, get a loaded tea, and attend Pine Lake College on Wednesday nights.

What is your go-to meal in Oxford?

Toyo hibachi steak and snow crab roll!!!

What are you binge-watching or reading right now?

I am reading Brittany Spears's "The Woman In Me."

What are some dream travel destinations?

Bora Bora, Cancun, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Greece, Paris

What is one thing you wish you knew as an incoming freshman that you’d tell your past self?

Make sure you always try your hardest, yes, even in high school when you think it doesn't matter that much. I took many dual enrollment courses in high school, starting my freshman year. I didn't try that hard because I didn't think they would follow me after high school, but they definitely did. They are a part of your college GPA forever!
