Meet Lydia McKissick
What is your major and why did you choose it?
I chose exercise science because the way that exercise affects the physiology of the body is a topic that interests me greatly! Getting to study this topic and learn hands-on in labs has grown my knowledge of exercise science immensely and has helped to prepare me for physical therapy school as well.

Why did you decide to pursue this health profession?
I chose physical therapy because I love the combination of exercise and healthcare that it brings to the table. Helping people get healthier by becoming stronger inspires me!

How has HPAO helped you?
HPAO is the best resource for pre-health students that I could ever imagine! The advisors truly walk you through your college experience step-by-step and do everything in their power to ensure you are more than prepared for your post-undergrad goals. They are advisors, mentors, friends, and everything else you could need throughout your experience at Ole Miss.

What is your most memorable experience working with HPAO?
My best HPAO memory so far has been working at the HPAO table on Fall Fridays, Mississippi Day, and other prospective student visits! I love getting to brag on HPAO to potential new students and give them advice about their future careers!

What are your career goals?
My goal is to be a physical therapist. I would love to work with athletes and possibly be the PT for an MLB team or another professional sports team! After that, I hope to come back to the Oxford area and open my own therapy clinic to give back to my LOU community.
