What does this scholarship award mean to you?
Even though I was raised in a low-income neighborhood and Spanish was my first language; I am a testament of how far community support and willpower can take someone. This scholarship award reflects the positive impact of generous donors who provide students with the resources they need to thrive.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Mississippi?
As a lifelong Californian, I chose to attend the University of Mississippi to experience new cultures and academic opportunities. I am a proud daughter of immigrant parents and believe higher education has the power to uplift communities and transform lives. After completing the Ph.D. program, I plan to pursue a professoriate track while building a strong career in student affairs.
