Why did you choose to attend UM?

I chose UM because whenever I toured in the first place, it was love at first sight, we have a pretty campus, and most important of all, a big community that feels like family.

When and how did you choose your major(s)/minor(s)?

I chose my major because I felt it was a good balance of biology and chemistry. As for my minor, I always felt that the brain was a fascinating topic.

What would you tell a high school student about your major?

It can be seen as a difficult major at first but it can be the most fun major ever.

What are your 3 favorite things about your major/department at UM?

    1. Cutting-edge research: UM's chemistry department conducts breakthrough molecular biology and biochemistry research, giving students fascinating possibilities to work on unique projects.
    2. Biochemistry at UM is multifaceted, allowing students to study links between biology, chemistry, and other sciences and get a thorough grasp of biochemical processes.
    3. Supportive community: Faculty and peers advise and guide students in the biochemistry department, helping them succeed intellectually and emotionally."

Can you tell me about a professor or a class you've taken that has had the most impact on you?

Dr.Godfrey has been a mentor to me. He always gives the best advice and is always willing to help.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

I am planning to go UMMC to become a pediatrician.

What is one thing you wish you knew as an incoming freshman that you'd tell your past self?

It is okay to have bad days and always start with a hello, you will never know how far that can take you.
