Meet Michael Basha

What is your major and why did you choose it?

I chose to major in biochemistry because I think it will be helpful in preparing for the MCAT and for medical school.

Why did you decide to pursue this health profession?

I decided to go into premed because whenever I shadowed doctors I was truly intrigued and could see myself being a doctor.

How has HPAO helped you?

Dr. Taylor has really helped me feel more comfortable in the process. It can be pretty stressful and you feel as if you aren't doing enough, but Dr. Taylor does a great job of getting you on the right track and making the process less stressful.

What is your most memorable experience working with HPAO?

For me, I thought that it was really cool that Dr. Taylor remembered my older sister, whom he also advised, and I think it's great that we can talk about her. I enjoy that every time I schedule an appointment, it is an enjoyable experience while being insightful.

What are your career goals?

I want to go to medical school and potentially become some kind of surgeon.

What is your favorite meal in Oxford?

My favorite meal in Oxford would have to be P5 fiesta from El Agave.

What are you the happiest doing when you are not studying?

I really enjoy lifting weights, eating, and hanging out with friends when I'm not studying.

Where is your favorite study spot?

I love to study in the kitchen or a classroom of the Honors College.
