What are you most excited, and maybe most nervous about, as you start college?
It’s definitely a mix of excitement and nerves. I’m excited for a fresh start in a new place with new people and starting life beyond high school. At the same time, moving that far away from home is a little intimidating. It’s a big change, but that’s what makes it exciting.

Your family has deep SEC ties. What made Ole Miss the place where you wanted to start this next chapter?
At first, I was looking at several schools, but Ole Miss stood out because it was a great opportunity for me. Financially, it made the most sense, and I received the most scholarship support here. Coming from a family with deep SEC roots, choosing Ole Miss allowed me to honor those traditions while creating a path of my own. My family has been supportive every step of the way.

You’ve spent years documenting your high school community. What excites you about getting to tell the stories of a completely new community at Ole Miss?
There’s such a strong sense of community in Oxford, and there are so many traditions that make Ole Miss unique. It feels like everyone genuinely loves this place, and that’s something I’m excited to experience firsthand.
I’d love to cover athletics, especially because there are so many successful programs here. More than anything, I’m excited to write about people who care deeply about their community.

In your Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College application, you wrote about legacy being “planting seeds in a garden you never get to see.” What kind of impact do you hope to leave during your time here?
I hope people remember me as light to others. Even if others don’t know me, they can tell how much I love and care about other people. I want to leave a positive impact, even if it’s through small moments that I never get to see the long-term results of. If I can encourage people or make someone’s day a little brighter, that’s something I would be proud of.

What drew you to our Honors College?
My mom encouraged me to apply. I became used to challenging myself through my school’s International Baccalaureate program, and I wanted to continue that rigor in college. As I learned more about the SMBHC, I realized I would also find a community of students who value academics and challenge. I love the idea of being surrounded by people who share those same values.

When future students flip through an Ole Miss yearbook that you helped create, what do you hope they feel?
I hope they feel satisfied in their decision to attend Ole Miss. I want them to look through and remember the friendships, traditions and moments that made their college experience special. Preserving those memories for other students would mean a lot to me.
