Rebekah Reysen

Biography

Dr. Rebekah Reysen is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Criminal Justice Policy Studies, while also working as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Sacred Heart University (remote faculty). Dr. Reysen’s career experiences include providing counseling and consulting services to college students at the University of Mississippi for over a decade.


She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, and is certified to provide Telemental health services (BC-TMH credential).


Dr. Reysen has published articles and book chapters pertaining to college student development, mental health, counseling, and academic performance. She is the Editor and Founder of the Journal of Academic Underperformance, and past-Editor of the Journal of Counseling Research and Practice and the Journal of Counselor Preparation and Supervision.


Dr. Reysen is also interested in researching topics that link the criminal justice and mental health fields, including crime on the college campus, policing, stalking, anti-social personality disorder, violent offenders, and the effectiveness of counseling-based techniques in reducing and preventing criminal behavior.
