Why did you choose to apply to the Lott Leadership Institute?

The appeal of the Lott program was the strong sense of community and the opportunity to grow as a leader alongside other motivated students. I was drawn to the program because it challenges students to think deeply about public service, current issues, and the responsibilities that come with leadership. The Lott Institute has given me opportunities to learn from professors, guest speakers, and peers who care about making an impact, which has made my experience at Ole Miss even more meaningful.

What are your career aspirations?

My career aspirations center around using communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills in a professional setting where I can work with people and help organizations grow. Through Public Policy Leadership and my campus involvement, I have become interested in careers that combine strategy, relationship building, and public service.
After graduation, I hope to pursue opportunities in business, consulting, or sales, while continuing to explore how policy and leadership influence organizations and communities. Long term, I want to build a career that allows me to connect with others, take on leadership roles, and make a meaningful impact through the work I do.

Is there a professor that has been particularly helpful to you?

Sahil Mathur has been particularly helpful to me during my time in the Public Policy Leadership program. He has challenged me to think more critically about policy issues and has helped me strengthen my writing, analysis, and communication skills. I am grateful not only for the guidance and support he has provided throughout my academic experience in PPL, but also for the professional advice he has given me. He has taken the time to meet with me about interview preparation, resume development, and internship opportunities, which has been extremely valuable as I think about my future career.
