Why did you choose to attend the University of Mississippi?
I chose to attend the University of Mississippi because of its outstanding School of Education and the excellent faculty. The program has a strong reputation for developing and preparing educational leaders, and I wanted to learn from professors with both research expertise and real-world leadership experience. I knew the program would challenge me to grow professionally and prepare me for the next step in my career.

What inspired you to pursue a graduate degree within the School of Education?
I was inspired to pursue a graduate degree within the School of Education because I wanted to extend the positive impact I could have on the lives of students. While I enjoyed making a difference in my own classroom, I realized I wanted to serve an entire school community. By earning my Master of Education in Educational Leadership, I have gained the knowledge and skills to support teachers, improve student outcomes, and positively influence the culture of a school.

Can you tell me about a professor or a class you've taken that has had the most impact on you?
It is difficult to narrow it down to just one professor or one class because I truly had an outstanding experience throughout the program. The professors were knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely invested in preparing future school leaders. Each course challenged me to think critically about leadership while providing practical strategies that I now use in my daily work. The combination of high-quality instruction and real-world application made the entire program impactful.

After graduating in May, I relocated to Clinton to begin serving as an assistant principal at Clinton Junior High School in the Clinton Public School District. Becoming a school administrator was exactly what I hoped to do after earning my degree, and I am grateful that the University of Mississippi helped prepare me for this opportunity. I look forward to continuing to grow as an instructional leader, supporting teachers, and making a positive impact on students, staff, and the community.
