What research have you been working on lately?
My research focuses on how to improve people’s memory performance and how likely we are to form false memories. My most recent project examined the idea of combining two known memory enhancing techniques to see if that would further increase memory performance.
What is your favorite thing about being a graduate student in the department?
I love how collaborative and social our department is! Everyone is very knowledgeable and willing to help each other out.
What is your favorite thing about living in Oxford?
Before moving to Oxford, I had never lived in a small town, so I very much appreciate the slower pace of life here (especially as a busy graduate student!).
What is your favorite course you have taken so far?
My favorite course I have taken so far would probably be Advanced Cognitive Psychology taught by Dr. Matthew Reysen or Advanced Social Cognition taught by Dr. Joseph Wellman. Cognitive psychology, specifically memory research, is the foundation for what I do, while Social Cognition weaves in how social factors impact cognition, which I also enjoy researching!
What do you do when you are not studying?
When I am not focused on my work, I love to travel. I have been to over 20 countries and the next trip I have planned is to India!
What is a really interesting or really boring fact about yourself?
Having grown up in Italy, I speak Italian fluently!
