UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES

The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Community & Service

"The University of Mississippi is dedicated to having positive local and global impact. Scholarly engagement through community service is at the heart of our mission to transform lives, communities, and the world." - Chancellor Jeffrey S. Vitter

The University of Mississippi is committed to transforming the state through service as outlined in the Strategic Plan. This commitment to transformative service strengthens our community, state, and nation. Whatever your passion for making a difference in the world and the lives of others, you can find many opportunities at the University of Mississippi.

If you are interested in serving communities across North Mississippi or getting involved in the Lafayette-Oxford-University area, the Community Service Directory can help you get started.

To learn more about Transformation through Service, contact the McLean Institute for Public Service and Community Engagement, which seeks to make community engagement a distinctive part of the educational culture at the University of Mississippi through its work to fight poverty through education. Additionally, the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement coordinates and supports student organizations, leadership initiatives, and large-scale service events. Students and community members can also find volunteer opportunities with the United Way of Oxford and Lafayette County.

The University of Mississippi community is also home to a rich and diverse array of cultural offerings, from ancient artifacts to priceless art. We are the leading experts in blues music and offer excellent entertainment at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts. Our community plays a big role in making Ole Miss a treasured institution.
