Facilities Planning supports design, construction and renovation projects across the entire campus.

Our Commitment

Facilities Planning is committed to providing stakeholders at Ole Miss with physical spaces that meet their needs while advancing the university’s fulfillment of the Master Plan. Every project, large or small, is planned and executed with the goal of creating an environment that is aesthetically pleasing, aligns with the objectives of the Master Plan, and balances the needs of the environment. We respect the unique purpose and goals of each project and strive to be accessible and responsive to our campus partners.

Types of Projects

Capital Projects – New Buildings

Capital projects involve long-term investments, usually in major construction projects developed by Facilities Planning. These projects add value to the university infrastructure by providing new space that meets the needs of our community and accomplishes objectives of the university’s Master Plan.

Maintenance Projects

The Facilities Management Department plans and manages maintenance projects. These projects are identified during annual building inspections and maintenance calls throughout the year. Typically, these projects involve building systems or infrastructure of existing spaces on campus. Maintenance projects are prioritized based on the urgency of the issue at hand and available funding each fiscal year.

Major Renovation & Refurbishment Projects

Renovation & refurbishment projects include all other construction that is not defined as capital or maintenance. University departments may request these projects, which might include improvements to a classroom, residence hall, lab or office. Facilities Planning coordinates these projects, ensuring that each renovation is completed efficiently.
