Residential Parking Permits for Students Who Live On Campus
Residential permits are $395 for the 2025-2026 academic year.
All students bringing a vehicle to campus must register that vehicle and order a parking permit online. Permits for each academic year will be available online beginning in July.
As a student living in campus student housing, if purchased, you will be issued a physical decal type permit that will be mailed to your designated address (must be a valid US Postal Address).
A limited number of standard residential surface lot permits will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis, so it is important to register early. Once the standard residential permits in your designated area (based on residence hall location) have reached capacity, you will only have the option to purchase a Residential Garage decal or a Residential Overflow decal.
Residential permits are the only university permits that will be recognized for parking in residential areas on home football weekends and must be on the vehicle accessing campus.
Students living on campus will be issued a permit based on housing accommodations. Types of permits include:
- Residential East
- Residential West
- Residential Northwest
- Residential Central
- Residential South
- Campus Walk
- Residential Garage (available to all zones except Campus Walk)
About Residential Parking Permits
Decals to be sold on a first-come, first-served basis
Due to construction and growth on campus, a limited number of residential parking permits will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. One permit will be sold to one space, allowing for a better parking experience for those who purchase residential permits. Once the residential permits in your designated area (based on the location of your residence) have reached capacity, you will have the option to purchase a Residential Garage permit or a Residential Overflow permit.
Residential Garage
The garage is located in the area north of Minor Hall on the western edge of the residential zones. The facility has over 1,500 spaces available and will be used exclusively for residential students who select it as their first option or who were unable to purchase one of the standard residential surface zones (East, Central, West or South). The garage will be treated as a unique zone with a GR type permit. Only valid GR permits will be allowed to park in the garage from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday thru Friday.
Vehicles must not exceed 20' in length by 90" in width. The height clearance for the Residential Garage is 8' 2". Oversized vehicles requiring more than one standard parking spare or exceeding the allowable height clearance shall be parked in an area designated by DPT with an appropriate permit.
Residential Overflow
Residential Overflow permits are for residential students that were not able to purchase an on-campus residential parking permit.
There are two zones for this permit type:
- Residential Overflow North – This zone is located at the Jackson Avenue Center (JAC).
- Residential Overflow South – This zone is located at the South Campus Recreation Center (SCRC).
- Please see the following maps to locate each of the zones:
Residential Overflow permits are only valid in their respective zones on campus. North may not park in South and vice versa.
Vehicles with this permit option are not able to park in any Commuter Red zone. Permit holders may come onto campus and park in any residential zone during evenings and weekends. Students are encouraged to utilize the OUT transit system in tandem with this permit.
Residential Overflow parking for home football games for Residential Overflow North permit holders is at the Jackson Avenue Center and the South Campus Recreation Center for Residential Overflow South permit holders. Residential permits are the only university permits that will be recognized for parking on home football weekends in residential zones and must be on the registered vehicle accessing campus. Please be aware of parking zone signage at each location.
Residential Overflow permits are $200 for the 2025-2026 academic year. These permits can only be purchased in person at our main DPT office at the South Campus Recreation Center. Our office hours are Monday - Friday; 7:30am to 4:30pm.
Residents with this permit may join our permit waitlist to upgrade their permit to an on-campus permit starting August 16th. Please go to your “My Parking Account” to access the waitlist.
