Krista founded Aerostar Environmental Services Inc. in 1992 before selling it in 2012 and then establishing the Blackledge Group. Blackledge is dedicated to supporting small businesses and has been a generous benefactor to Ole Miss, particularly to the School of Engineering and the Department of Geology and Geological Engineering, where she has established a scholarship. Her contributions were recognized in 2020 when she was named the University of Mississippi Engineer of Distinction.
