Welcome Families and Guests!

Welcome to the Ole Miss! Whether you’re visiting campus for the first time, or attending orientation alongside your new student, we’re here to support you every step of the way. We know this is a big moment for your family, and we’re honored to be part of the journey.

Visiting Campus with Your Student

If your student is still deciding if Ole Miss is the right fit, we encourage you to schedule a campus visit. You'll have the chance to tour campus with a current student, learn about academics, admissions, and scholarships, and get a feel for the Ole Miss experience together.

Orientation for Families and Guests

Orientation isn’t just for students—it’s for you, too. We’re here to make sure you understand your role in your student's success and help you stay connected every step of the way. Whether you’re looking for information on campus safety, wellness services, or how to stay in the loop with your student, we’ve got you covered.

During orientation, you’ll:

  • Learn about academic advising so you can better understand how your student will navigate course selection and staying on track to graduate.
  • Explore campus resources your student can access—including mental health services, the student health center, tutoring, and career development tools.
  • Hear how support systems like financial aid, student organizations, and academic programs empower your student to succeed on their own terms.
  • Get answers to common questions about campus life, safety measures, staying informed, and practical details like housing and meal plans.
  • Connect with other families who are also navigating this exciting transition!

Orientation Fees for Family Members/Guests

Family members and guests must be added to the student's registration. All orientation fees are nonrefundable. Fees can be paid online using Visa, MasterCard or an electronic bank draft. At this time, we are not able to take checks in the mail, cash, or bill the fees to the student’s bursar account.
