Find out about the generous scholarship opportunities for Air Force cadets and student success resources available at the department and university levels.

AFROTC provides cadets with a competitive edge through:

  • Scholarships and Financial Assistance. Covers tuition, fees, and stipends. 
  • Leadership and Professional Development. Practical leadership experience and mentorship.
  • Physical Fitness Training. Structured programs ensuring cadets meet Air Force standards.
  • Career Preparation. Resume workshops, networking with officers, and hands-on military experience.

Priority Majors for Air Force ROTC Scholarships

The University of Mississippi offers the following Technical and Foreign Language Majors, which may receive priority when competing for Air Force ROTC scholarships.

Air Force Scholarships

Get your degree paid for with scholarships available to AROTC cadets!

All active, non-ROTC scholarship, paying out of state resident fees GMC (AS100/200/250) cadets will receive $1,000 per semester (up to 4 semesters for a possible total of $4,000) based on the following criteria:

  • Must be a first or second-year cadet
  • Must meet all criteria to be "active" in the ROTC program including enrollment in AS courses
  • Not currently on Air Force ROTC scholarship
  • Attempt Physical Fitness Assessment during the first semester
  • Pass Physical Fitness Assessment with a score of 90 by the second semester in the program
  • Maintain a Term GPA of 2.5 if enrolled in a Technical Degree path or
  • Maintain a Term GPA of 3.0 if enrolled in a non-technical Degree path
  • Pass DoD medical exam by the end of the second semester in the program

Performance-based scholarship funds are available to all cadets who are active in the Air Force ROTC program including enrollment in AS courses.

The scholarship funds vary each semester based on program enrollment and are allocated based on the following criteria:

  • Physical Fitness Assessment score
  • Term GPA

High School Students must apply by January of their senior year.

Student Resources

Fitness & Wellness Center

Air Force ROTC Cadets at the University of Mississippi receive unique benefits. Beyond our normal physical training regiment, cadets receive access to the Joint ROTC Performance and Wellness Center. This gym—co-located in the ROTC building—is designed specifically for military strength and conditioning. Come grab a quick workout between classes in a space reserved solely for ROTC Cadets.

Additionally, the School of Applied Sciences provides a Nutritionist doctoral student to provide individual consultations and counseling with our cadets. This special service ensures all cadets maintain a balanced approach to holistic health and fitness.
