The University of Mississippi Institute for the Arts is a center for collaboration and cross-pollination in the Fine & Performing Arts that serves students, advocates for faculty, and creates cultural, economic, and social impact across the state, region, and nation.

    Summer College

    Explore the Arts is a Summer College program filled with enriching experiences for high school students with a passion for art, music, theatre and film. This month-long residential program welcomes rising juniors and seniors who are ready to hone their artistic talent and learn about careers in the arts. Every accepted participant receives a scholarship.

    Medal for the Arts

    The Medal for the Arts is the highest artistic award the University bestows to an individual connected to the university who is a key artist, contributor, or patron of the arts.

    Arts Scholar

    Annually, the Institute for the Arts awards scholarships to incoming students in recognition of artistic excellence in the departments of Art & Art History, Music, and Theatre & Film.

    Sarahfest Artist-in-Residence

    The Sarahfest Artist-in-Residence Program provides a selected cohort of students, staff, and faculty with the unique opportunity to work with professional artists in disciplines such as visual arts, writing, directing, animation, poetry, and music.
