McKenzie Perkins is a senior at the University of Mississippi, majoring in Biological Sciences. She is actively involved in several campus organizations, including the Associated Student Body(ASB) and the Delta Delta Delta sorority. McKenzie is also a member of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College, where she is currently working on her honors thesis, “Economic Development in Jonestown, MS: A Case Study of But God Ministries' Community Development Projects,” under the direction of Dr. Albert Nylander, director of the Grisham-McLean Institute. Throughout her high school and college years, McKenzie has been recognized for her community service and continues to dedicate her time to various organizations. In the summer of 2023, as part of the CEED program, she interned with the Panola Partnership in Batesville, MS, where she and Khloe Jones helped launch the Youth Entrepreneurship Program at the Batesville Farmer’s Market under the direction of Mamie Avery, Main Street Association Director. After graduation, McKenzie plans to pursue a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD).
