Omobola Obasanjo is a senior at the University of Mississippi, majoring in Business, Banking, and Finance & Finance. He is an active member of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College, serves as Treasurer of the NAACP, and is involved with the Associated Student Body as the Principal of Infrastructure and Sustainability. This is Omobola’s second year serving as a CEED Innovation Scholar with the Grisham-McLean Institute. Originally from Nigeria and Greenwood, Mississippi, Omobola graduated from Indianola Academy in the Mississippi Delta. In the summer of 2023, he assisted with the Mandela Washington Fellows program during their visit to the University of Mississippi, in partnership with Jackson State University. He has also worked for FNB Bank in Oxford, located on The Square. During the summer of 2024, as part of his CEED internship, Omobola interned with the CREATE Foundation and the Community Development Foundation (CDF) in Tupelo. After graduating in May 2025, he plans to pursue a career in finance and aims to obtain a master’s degree.
