How We Work with Communities

At CPS, we are committed to helping community leaders and organizations across Mississippi reach the help they need. Though we typically assist by providing useful data to those who need it, our team is actively in the community, helping to implement solutions by using the data we have. That support can come in the form of leading planning sessions, offering an assessment, writing a data-driven brief or even connecting them with volunteers to make an impact.

When a community group or individual comes to us, we prioritize empowering them rather than taking over. Our approach is centered on collaborative support, allowing communities to steer their own paths.

Making an Impact

We’re proud to have developed meaningful partnerships with community organizations. Our collective efforts have powered local initiatives and amplified sustainable, positive progress in Mississippi communities.

Delta Regional Forum

Each year, CPS organizes the Delta Regional Forum, an event that addresses pressing issues in the Mississippi Delta. The team collaborates with nonprofits, academic institutions and individuals to discuss how to drive positive change, improve public health and promote economic development.

Broadband Outreach

In partnership with MS BEAM, CPS organized listening sessions in Quitman and Tunica County to address broadband equity. These meetings worked to bring solutions that bridged the digital divide for rural residents without reliable access to an internet connection.

Empower Local Nonprofits with Data

CPS connects local nonprofits with the secondary data they need for their grant applications. For example, CPS team members regularly attend events like the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi's networking meetings and speak about how accessing the right information can help nonprofits build critical capacity, making their community impact that much more sustainable in the future.
