Applied Policy and Community Research Laboratory (APCRL)

Housed within CPS, the Applied Policy and Community Research Laboratory, known commonly as APCRL, offers a unique platform for University of Mississippi students to take part in multidisciplinary and multi-method research projects that actively engage with communities and inform policy for community well-being.

Through APCRL, students collaborate with faculty and community groups, gaining hands-on experience addressing real local challenges. By merging their data analytics skill set and community-oriented research, APCRL helps communities make timely and meaningful improvements that enhance community welfare.

APCRL Brief Series

To further our commitment to impactful research, we launched a brief series that addresses critical regional issues through a data-informed lens. Each brief provides valuable context, tackling pressing topics ranging from rural hospital closures and maternal mortality to food security challenges on college campuses, offering thoughtful, solid approaches to drive progress in Mississippi.
