    Prison-to-College Pipeline Program

A university-community engagement initiative—cofounded and directed by Dr. Patrick Alexander, Associate Professor of English and African American Studies, promotes higher education in prison in response to high rates of incarceration and the ongoing need for increased access to educational opportunities in the state of Mississippi.

    Inspiring Stories

“This class helps you understand your civil duties as an American. It helps you understand where we come from and what we’ve been through as a nation. It exposes truths that must be addressed so that the healing process begins. It offers inspiring stories of courage and sacrifice, knowledge that I can pass on.”
