WHAT WE DO

The Research Instrument Service Support Core provides research instrument repair and analytical support services, including maintenance and repair of chromatography systems, pumps, centrifuges, and related laboratory equipment. The Core operates on a cost-recovery basis, ensuring sustainable access to essential technical expertise and equipment support for the research community.

Please note the following important guidelines regarding our service:

Service Queue
All service requests are handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cost Recovery Model
RISSC operates on a cost recovery basis. For Fiscal Year 2026, the personnel reimbursement rate is $39/hour, billed in 15-minute increments. Please note that rates are subject to revision.

Assessment & Estimates
After an initial visit to assess the issue, RISSC personnel will provide an estimate for the repair—if it is determined that the service can be completed in-house. Final invoices will reflect the actual time spent on the service.

Parts Procurement
The service requester is responsible for purchasing any replacement parts required for repair or preventive maintenance. RISSC personnel will obtain quotes for the necessary parts and share them with the requester.

Billing & Payment Policy

  • Invoices for services performed in the previous month will be emailed to the investigator during the second week of each month.
  • Payments are due within 30 days of the invoice date.
  • If payment is not received within 30 days, new reservations will be suspended until all outstanding invoices are paid in full.
