Application Process for Student Disability Services

If you're interested in applying for accommodations with the Office of Student Disability Services, you can get started in five simple steps.

  1. Become admitted to the University. SDS has no authority over the admissions process or admissions decisions. For information regarding the admission process contact the Office of Admissions.
  2. Complete and online application for services. To complete an online application, you will need: 1.) a go.olemiss.edu address, 2.) an OleMiss username and password, 3.) an OleMiss student ID number.
  3. Schedule your required initial interview with SDS. The interview can take place in person or via Zoom. To schedule your appointment, call us at 662-915-7128 or email us at sds@olemiss.edu. Because appointment slots fill up quickly, students are strongly encouraged to schedule required appointments as soon as possible.

SDS is committed to full inclusion and access. If you require an accommodation during your meeting, please let us know at the time you schedule your appointment so we can ensure accommodations are in place for your meeting.

  4. Submit comprehensive external documentation. Documentation must support a current, disability-related need for the accommodations you are requesting. Click the following link for our documentation guidelines.
    • PLEASE NOTE: Some accommodations require more specialized documentation. Please review the general documentation guidelines as well as documentation guidelines that may be specific to a particular accommodation/modification request.
  5. SDS completes a comprehensive review. SDS will review all the information you provided, determine eligibility for accommodations, and contact you with next steps.

Please note: If you are approved for accommodations, it will be your responsibility to assign your approved accommodations to your classes each semester via your Rebel Access Portal and to meet with your instructors to discuss your needs in each class.
