Career Closet

Our program provides students with access to professional attire for career fairs, networking events, internships, interviews, and other career-related occasions. The Closet offers a diverse selection of professional clothing, all purchased or donated to the Career Center.

The Career Closet is open all semester from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays-Thursdays at the South Oxford Center in Room SW 1800.

Through consultations, workshops, and tailored advice, our team seeks to assist students in identifying their strengths, interests, and career aspirations.

  • Teach you effective ways to make decisions
  • Provide and direct you to information on majors, internships and careers
  • Administer and interpret assessments that help you better understand your personality, interests, values, abilities and skills
  • Help you generate options for your career and educational future
  • Listen to your ideas/feelings and give you feedback
  • Educate you on the culture and expectations of the work world
  • Assist you with the development of resumes and other job-search correspondence
  • Help you prepare for interviews for full-time, part-time employment, internships and graduate/professional school.

Career decision making is affected by a number of factors (personal, social, economic, family, etc.), so these issues will be discussed with your advisor. Please be aware that discussing some of these topics may result in emotional stress. If this happens, we may recommend that you seek help from a mental health professional. If you decide to seek these services, every effort will be made to ensure that you are provided with a timely and appropriate referral.
