Office of Student Disability Services
We lead the university in its commitment to recognize disability as a valued aspect of diversity, to embrace access as a matter of social justice, and to design more welcoming and inclusive environments.
Pardon Our Work
Creating Equal Opportunities for Students with Disabilities
In collaboration with the larger campus community, the Office of Student Disability Services (SDS) assists the University in its commitment to protect the civil rights of students with disabilities and foster more welcoming, inclusive environments.
SDS is responsible for determining and providing support for disability-related accommodations and, through an interactive process with students and faculty, works to remove unintentional curricular and programmatic barriers.
SDS Resources
Rebel Access Portal
The Rebel Access portal is a centralized platform for students registered with SDS. It provides students with easy access to manage their accommodations, including requesting alternative testing, notetaking services, and accessible reading materials. Notetakers and instructors also use the platform to manage and upload materials for SDS students.
Interpreting Services
SDS coordinates interpreting services for campus events, activities, and meetings to ensure communication access for those who are deaf and hard of hearing. ASL interpreters are limited and priority is given to students registered with SDS for classroom-related needs.
SDS Testing Center
The SDS Testing Center provides a secure and supportive environment for students with approved accommodations to complete their exams. The center offers accommodations such as extended time, distraction-reduced spaces, and test proctoring services, ensuring that students receive the appropriate support based on their needs.

Student Privacy and Confidentiality
Under FERPA, SDS protects the confidentiality of disability records and may only disclose information without consent in limited situations. SDS can share details with instructors about how a disability impacts the classroom, but not the diagnosis, if the student signs an accommodation agreement.
