Fall 2025 Information

Fall Semester Closing 2025

The following residence halls close for Winter Break: Brown, Burns, Crosby, Deaton, Hefley, Martin, Minor, Pittman, RH1, RH2, Stewart, and Stockard.

Buildings close: Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. CT

Finals Week is December 8-12, 2025. Students should plan check out of their room for fall semester no later than 24 hours after their last final. 

  • For residents of these buildings that need break housing for all or part of Winter Break, Student Housing provides an option for break housing. Information will be sent to residents via Ole Miss Gmail. There is a Break Housing Request form in the Student Housing Portal. If you do not have a safe place to go during break and are unable to afford the break housing rates, please contact UMatter: Student Support & Advocacy at (662) 915-7248 or umatter@olemiss.edu.

All students need to complete the following steps when leaving for Winter Break:

  • Close the windows

  • Open blinds and curtains to allow sunlight into room (Except for ground floor rooms)

  • Unplug all appliances (including micro-fridges, which should be defrosted)

  • Remove all trash from the room or apartment

  • Take any personal items that may be needed over break

  • Turn off the lights

  • Complete online checkout within the Student Housing Portal to confirm you have left for break

Residents who will not be attending Ole Miss for spring semester should have an approved Request to Vacate and are expected to be moved out no later than Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 12:00 pm CT regardless of whether their building closes for winter break or not.

Luckyday Residential College, Residential College South, Residence Hall 3, and all apartment communities remain open for Winter Break. 

Damage Charges

Students will be sent an email to their Ole Miss email account about any damage charges upon checkout if they have an approved Request to Vacate.

  • All questions regarding damage charges in Burns, Minor, Pittman, RH2, RH3, Stockard, and Martin should be directed to Taylor Alston at tmalston@olemiss.edu.
  • All questions regarding damage charges in Crosby, Brown, Hefley, Deaton, RH1, Northgate, and Stewart should be directed to Ethan Cruse at jecruse@olemiss.edu.
  • All questions regarding damage charges at RC South, Luckyday, The Quarters Oxford, Flatts at South Campus, Rev Oxford, Suites Oxford, Campus Walk, and Taylor Bend should be directed to Missy Belcher at mbelcher@olemiss.edu.

Academic Breaks

See which halls stay open during academic breaks.

All halls will remain open for Thanksgiving Break.

Buildings that remain open: Residence Hall 3, Luckyday Residential College, Residential College South, and all apartment communities. 

Buildings that close: Brown, Burns, Crosby, Deaton, Hefley, Minor, Martin, Pittman, Residence Hall 1, Residence Hall 2, Stewart, Stockard.

Important Dates for halls that close for winter break: 

  • Halls close: December 13, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. CT 
  • Halls open for Winter Intersession: January 4, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. CT

 

Spring Move-in for all new Spring semester students is January 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. CT

All halls will remain open for Spring Break.

All students must be moved out of their room or apartment 24 hours following their last final exam. All residence halls and apartments close on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. CT.
