About the Red and Blue Celebration

The UM Staff Council & the Office of the Provost co-sponsor the Red & Blue Graduation Celebration of UM Staff Members. The Red and Blue Celebration of Achievement for University of Mississippi staff members is an opportunity for the university community to honor those who have navigated the college experience successfully while working simultaneously as an employee at the university. During the ceremony, we will honor graduating seniors and graduate students with red and blue cords and a certificate of achievement. It’s a joyous celebration where staff, family, alums, students, and faculty are encouraged to congratulate our new graduates. A reception at the Ford Center will immediately follow the ceremony.

UM staff members are employed primarily in non-teaching activities in support of the educational, research, and service programs of the university. They may be full-time or part-time administrative, professional, and other staff employees and located on any campus of the University of Mississippi who are eligible for fringe benefits, such as personal and sick leave, retirement benefits, and healthcare. Student workers are not eligible for this event.
