    How do I get Cable TV in my office or department?

    Departments may request to have campus cable TV services in their departments via an SAP notification. Cable TV services are billed annually and are prorated from the install date through the end of the current fiscal year. If SAP access is not available, requests may be submitted via email to telecom@olemiss.edu

    How do I view my Network bill?

    Telecommunications provides online access to view network billing for departments. Log in to myOleMiss, Click the Employee Tab. Choose Telecommunications, then Telecommunication Network Billing. Choose Organization Data, highlight the Organization Name, then click Get Cost Distribution.  If you do not see any information, email networkbill@olemiss.edu or call Telecommunications at extension 5922.

    How do I get a new phone in my office?

    Departmental line requests and maintenance is requested through SAP. If you do not have SAP access call Telecommunications at extension 5922 or email: telcom@olemiss.edu.

    How do I change or move a phone in my office?

    Submit an SAP notification with a description of the request to move or change a telephone. Be sure to include a contact name, contact phone number and a cost center for billing purposes. If you are unable to submit an SAP notification, email the information to telcom@olemiss.edu.

    How do I get voicemail or POP voicemail on my phone?

    Submit an SAP notifications or email telcom@olemiss.edu with your extension # and a departmental cost center or call Telecommunications at extension 5922

    How do I change my voicemail password?

    Call voicemail by dialing extension 5000 from your phone. Login to your voicemail box, Select option 5, Select option 4 to change your password.

    If your mailbox is locked due to multiple unsuccessful login attempts or you don't know the password, Email telcom@olemiss.edu with your name and extension # or call Telecommunications at extension 5922.

    How do I get my office phone to ring on my cell phone?

    This feature is called EC500. For more information or to request this service email telcom@olemiss.edu or call Telecommunications at extension 5922.

    How do I make a long distance call from my campus phone?

    All campus phones are restricted from making long distance calls. Faculty, staff, and students can apply for a long distance access code. Call Telecommunications at extension 5922.

    How do I make a call to an off-campus number?

    Dial 9, then the 7 digit phone number if it is an Oxford number. If outside of Oxford, dial 9, plus the area, plus the 7 digit phone number.  Wait for the stutter tone and then enter your 6 digit long distance access code.

    How do I setup a conference call?

    Email telcom@olemiss.edu or call Telecommunications at extension 5922.  

    Why can't I get any channels on my TV?

    You need to reprogram your TV and scan for channels. Call Telecommunications at extension 5922 for help.

    How do I get Cable TV in my residence hall?

    Cable TV is provided to all residence halls at no charge. Visit the Telecommunications website at telecom.olemiss.edu. Choose "Cable TV" from the list on the right side of the page or call Telecommunications at extension 5922.

    How do I get a phone in my residence hall room?

    To request phone service, email telcom@olemiss.edu or call 662-915-5922. Telecommunications will need to know your name, student ID, and your residence hall and room number. Students are encouraged to have a phone in their room in case of emergency.

    Log in to myOleMiss, Click the Employee Tab. Choose Telecommunications, then Telecommunication Reports. Click the link for the report type you would like to view - Personal Long Distance or Departmental Long Distance.

    How do I sign up for RebAlerts?

    To verify/change cell phone information, login to MyOleMiss. Students: Choose My Profile, Contact Information. Employees: choose the Employee tab, My HR Tools, Address & Communication Preferences. Parents: Choose Parents, My Emergency Comm. Prefs. Follow the instructions to edit your information.

    How do I get a new telephone or network jack installed?

    Service requests or to request a quote for cabling or wiring should be sent via a SAP notification or via the Telecommunications webpage if SAP access is not available. Call Telecommunications at extenstion 5922 for assistance.
